Here at camp, we don’t let anything get in the way of active family fun! There are lots of cool little things you can do at home with your friends or family, whether the weather’s good or not. Our recommended activity for today is making furniture forts! Put one together today, or save this activity for a rainy day. With just a few simple household items, you’ll have your own little pirate fortress before you know it!
The best part of today’s activity is that you don’t need everything on the list! Any combination of these items can come together to make a fantastic fortress in your own kitchen or living room.
You’ll need the following:
- Couch cushions
- Permission from an adult. Make sure you ask somebody before you start piling up pillows!
- The easiest way to make a fort is to get a few kitchen chairs, stand them up like pillars, and drape a sheet or blanket over the top. It only takes a few seconds, and you have an instant tent you crawl inside!
- Another cool thing you can do is pulling off couch cushions and standing them up to build a little house on top of the couch. Cover the gaps with a little blanket, and you’ll have a cozy little corner to hang out in.
